things i learned at law school (so far)

1. Never do anything you don’t want to do. Never lose control over your own life.
2. Never let your happiness depend on other people’s success/failure.
3. Wear neutral colored clothing when you want to blend in in class.
4. Reading order: textbooks, outlines, then powerpoint handouts.
5. What goes online stays online. Watch your tweets.
6. Constantly comparing your GPA with others is a people-repellent
7. So you have huge ambitions! Good for you. Now keep your head down and work hard. There is no quicker way to make people resent you in this school than seeing someone who’s always working an angle to get one more notch on their resumes.
8. Always try to get at least 5 hours of sleep every day
9. Don’t believe everything you hear. Don’t get sucked in the rumor mill.
10. Try to show up to class as much as possible.
11. Bring an umbrella every day when rainy season starts. This will save you one day.
12. Try to be nice, but don’t kill yourself trying to make friends with the few people you naturally dislike. Chances are they don’t like you either.
13. You’ll see lots of different people with characteristics and mannerisms you’ll think of as annoying sometimes, but honestly most people are actually pretty nice. Really.
14. And finally: be as honest as you possibly can.

1. These days I honestly don’t know why we’re friends, it’s more out of habit than any actual affection. Sometimes I can’t tell whether you’re laughing at me or with me. It’s not cool to fuel other people’s insecurities, okay? Kbye

2. I don’t get why people think you’re so awesome. You only do stuff that makes you look cool instead of stuff you actually like, psssh.

4. Talking to you tires me out, you just don’t get it, so I’ll just smile and nod and stare blankly while you hog the conversation with YOUR needs.

Life’s just one thing after another. Ya ngga sih? Akhir-akhir ini baru nyadar kl selama ini sehari-hari itu kerjaannya cuma ngikutin perintah aja, dari kecil malah. Bedanya dulu suruhannya semacem minum susu! makan obatnya! jangan gigitin kuku! tapi sekarang suruhannya lebih berat, lebih demanding, kuliah yang hasilnya nilai bagus, cari jodoh anak baik-baik, dituntut jadi lebih mature dan dewasa dan anggun sementara lucunya di rumah nyaris selalu diperlakukan kayak balita. Yang paling klimaks itu pas ada nikahan dan bahkan saat itu gue awalnya gak dipercayai buat make anting sendiri (!!!!!) sementara itu model anting biasa aja bukan yang super ribet ala chandelier atau apalah. Jadi untuk gerakan motorik mudah yang harusnya udah dikuasai anak usia enam tahun aja gue masih dinilai kurang kompeten, makasih banyak ya

Aduh baca paragraf yang diatas kok kesannya hidup gue sedih amat ya, sebenernya gak segitunya juga sih cuma lagi kesel banget. Iya kok tau kok masih banyak orang-orang yang jauh lebih menderita, yang bahkan buat ngeluh-ngeluh ngeselin di blog aja gabisa karena didera penyakit dan kelaparan (oklebay), tapi dalam kondisi yang jauh lebih bebas dari mayoritas penduduk di planet bumi ini rasanya kok hidup masih nggak bebas, nggak adventurous, nggak puas……..
